Basel Mulhouse FreiburgBasel Mulhouse Freiburg Airport is named after the communities that it is serving. These are Basel in Switzerland, Mulhouse in France and Freiburg in Germany. This is one of the very few airports that is managed and operated by two different countries, Switzerland and France. The airport is located on the land of France but there was just an agreement made on 1946 that both countries can gain access to the airport without any customs restrictions.

The airport is divided into two, each half serving one country. Customs point is found at the middle of each half and allows people to cross from one country to another. Due to this, there are three codes for the Baia Mare airport. MHL for Mulhouse is the French code, BSL for Basel is the Swiss Code and EAP is for EuroAirport, the international code.

In 2007, there are about 4,270,000 of passengers that set foot in both Switzerland and France Terminals.

Transportation and Facilities
