Girona-Costa Brava Airport
Barcelona (Girona)On the northeastern part of Catalonia, Spain is the Girona-Costa Brava Airport. This is situated about 12 kilometers south of the city of Girona. This is about 92 kilometers north of Barcelona International Airport.

Girona-Costa Brava Airport was built on 1965. The passengers being served under this airport was just minimal but when Girona Airport was chosen by Ryanair to be its hub on this part of Spain, there was a sudden increase in number of passengers going here. As of 2007 alone, it has accommodated about 275,000 passengers traveling from this airport. This airport also serves as an alternative for passengers that do not want to travel all the way to Barcelona.

Transportation and Facilities
Girona-Costa Brave Airport is very accessible. It can be reached by car and by bus. If you are taking the car, there are three routes that you can take. These are the E-15/AP-7 toll road, the N-11 and C-25. If you prefer to take the public buses, there are 4 bus lines that are currently serving airport passengers. Its routes are Airport-Girona, Airport-Barcelona, Airport – Costa Brava/Maresme and Airport-North Costa Brava.

Aside from these transportations, there are also cars for hire that is being offered within the airport area. These are available within the airport terminal. While waiting for flights passengers can look around the shops in the terminal area or they can visit cafes around, which are serving snacks like drinks and sandwiches. Parking areas are also available for those who are bringing their vehicles with them. The parking lot can accommodate as much as 1020 cars and around 35 buses.
