Alicante Airport
AlicanteAlicante Airport, originally known as El Altet, is located about 11 kilometers south of Alicante. It is considered as the 6th busiest airport in Spain because of the 9.2 Million passengers coming from this airport in 2007. Most of these are international passengers coming from Germany, Italy, Sweden, UK and Holland. Due to the influx of passengers, a new building is being constructed is due to be finished by 2009.

Transportation and Facilities
Public transport going to and from the Alicante airport is available. There are buses that arrive every hour; these are coming from the central bus station. There are also taxis parked at the arrival hall of the airport for those who prefer it over the bus. Travel time going to the Alicante is about 15 to 20 minutes. Car Hire is likewise available and there are representatives within the baggage claim area.

There are two car parks within the airport spaces. It can accommodate up to 2,000 cars parked and long-term parking is accepted. For those who need ATMs or bureaux de change as well as post office, these facilities are offered within Alicante Airport. There are also phone booths and internet access within the area.
