Houari Boumedienne Airport
Algiers Airport is also known as Houari Boumedienne Airport. It is located 17 kilometers from Algiers in Algeria. It was named after Houari Boumedienne, a former President of Algeria. It caters to International airlines, Domestic Airlines and Cargo Airlines that bring travelers and packages to and from different parts of the world. Among the International airlines here are Air Algerie, Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, Saudi Arabia Airlines and Qatar Airways. Cargo Airlines include FedEx Airways, United Parcel Service and DHL Aviation.

Transport and Facilities
As an International Airport, it has facilities that will ensure the convenience of the traveling public. Among the facilities are bank, post office, information centers and bureau de change. There is also a left luggage where you can search for your things. For hungry and tired guests, you can check the different restaurants around the terminal. There is also a Duty-Free shop found inside the terminal to accommodate travelers who wanted to shop.

Transportation going to and from the city proper is not a problem. There are public buses passing the airport every 30 minutes. Taxis are also available for a price of 200-500 DA. In addition, there is also a subway which is being constructed at present that connects from central Algiers going to the airport.

About Algiers Tourism
Algiers tourism is slowly developing. Several seaside resorts are being established to attract more tourists to the area. The first water park is also found in this part of the country. In addition, there are also several swimming pools for kids and adults that are being restored. Aquafortland, a 1.5 hectares swimming pool is likewise a major attraction in the area.

Shopping is also inviting. Stalls and souvenir shops are being established in the areas near the swimming pools and beaches to make it more accessible to shoppers.
