Ørsta-Volda Airport, Hovden
The public airport serving the area of Møre og Romsdal is the Ørsta-Volda Airport. It is operated and managed by Avinor. In 2005, it has accommodated almost 42,000 of passengers that are traveling from different destinations.
The only airline that is serving the travelers is the Widerøe that uses the Dash 8 aircraft. Its main route is Orsta – Oslo. For cheap flights or promotions and schedule, make sure to visit the Avinor site.
Transportation and Facilities
Every 30 minutes during the day, there are buses that go in and out of the airport. These buses bring passengers to the center of Orsta. In the evening, these buses leave every hour to accommodate more passengers. Another option is the taxi. There are taxis found outside of the terminal anytime of the day.
For those who prefer to avail of car rentals, there are several companies that offer it within the airport vicinity. You can just approach any of these companies and they will surely have an available vehicle for your needs.
If you are bringing your cars or someone is bringing you to the airport, there is a parking area free of charge available for your use. This is on a first come first served basis.

Ørsta-Volda is the site for the academic traditions and cultural heritage. Volda, in particular is the site of Volda University College that has more than 3,000 students. Students from different parts of the country troop in this area to acquire greater and better education. Volda University College is just one of the 25 other schools and universities in the area. In addition, Volda also hosts student festivals and documentary movie festivals which are usually held during the month of April.
